Latest Updates from our Community Outreach Worker:

All Aboard!

We had a great trip on All Aboard, the canal boat that is run from Polwarth Parish Church. The weather was great; nice, warm and sunny.

The run was up to the top of Craiglockhart, and then back along to the Leamington Lift Bridge, before returning to Polwarth.

The canal was very peaceful, and the trip was a great chance to chat.  We were looked after very well by the team of volunteers on the project who served us a very welcome cuppa and biscuits, and skilfully piloted the boat.

If you are interested in going out on the canal boat please let me know as I would like to organise another one soon.

Junction 42 - Update

As we continue to work with Junction 42, the focus has now shifted to coffee brewing.

Leading the training is Miles Libke who is a Mission Strengthener at Edinburgh City Mission.  The volunteers and service users are being trained on all things coffee, working towards a Scottish Barista Academy qualification,  with the focus on increasing employment opportunities.

One major prayer request at the moment is for a suitable coffee machine to use for the training.

 Ukrainian Refugees

We recently had a meeting with Reverend Father Vasyl Kren, the Priest for the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Scotland, to consider ways in which the facilities at Diadem could be used to assist Ukrainian refugees.  Please pray that we would have wisdom and compassion, as we seek to help carry the burden in this tragic situation.
